Joseph G. Sconzo Bio
Joseph G. Sconzo ended his 25 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a decorated Special Agent. His city assignments included Quantico, Virginia, Phoenix, Arizona, New York City, and West Palm Beach, Florida. While he was with the Bureau, he was a member of the SWAT and Special Operations. He also led teams of agents investigating matters such as the Centennial Bomber, the Unabomber, TWA Flight 800, the initial World Trade Center Bombing, the 9/11 World Trade Center Bombing, and the Organized Crime Families in NY and NJ. The Port Authority of NY/NJ, State of New Jersey, United States Attorneys’ Offices in New York and South Florida, and the Palm Beach Post have recognized Mr. Sconzo for his accomplishments. Mr. Sconzo teamed up with DEA, IRSCID, HHS, Homeland Security, and state and local law enforcement agencies to achieve countless successful prosecutions and significant monetary settlements in Healthcare Fraud matters, Investment Fraud, and Public Corruption
Immediately following his retirement from the FBI, Mr. Sconzo teamed up with former FBI Special Agent Stuart N. Kaplan. They founded the Law Offices of Kaplan & Sconzo, P.A. The firm focused on Federal and State Criminal matters, Personal Injury cases, Employment disputes, and Internal Compliance Audits. It was extremely successful in representing victims of law enforcement misconduct and physical abuse resulting in serious injury. During that period, Mr. Sconzo gained recognition while engaging as an expert in Counter-Terrorism and National Security, resulting in the formation of Kaplan & Sconzo Global Risk Management Group, an entity specializing in risk and threat assessment. Mr. Sconzo possesses a Private Investigator License from the State of Florida.
Mr. Sconzo graduated from Nova University Center for the Study of Law and holds membership in the Florida Bar. Additionally, he is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts in the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida. Mr. Sconzo is an active member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Fraternal Order of Police in Tequesta, Florida. Mr. Sconzo serves as Icon’s Director of Legal Affairs and General Counsel.
